This was a gift for my brother in law. He hasn’t been able to find it in our area stores and was commenting at dinner about how good it was. I pulled my phone out at the table, ordered the bourbon and turned to him and said it would be here in a week. He was stunned and excited! Tasted this at a local BBQ restaurant that has an extensive collection of bourbon and whisky available. Liked it so opted to buy a bottle. What I tased from the bottle at the restaurant seemed different than what I tasted from the bottle I bought. Both have a smokey quality not mentioned in the tasting notes here but the version from the restaurant had more of the toffee or perhaps even cocoa/chocolate on the palate that I didn't seem to get from the bottle I bought. In both cases the bottle was still sealed prior to tasting so that should eliminate that as a variable. At 80 proof this is on the lower end of the ABV scale for the class which helps keep it on the smother side of things. Not shown in the images on C&M's product listing for this, the bottle has some attractive artwork on the sides and comes with an embroidered pouch you can see in the photos I've attached.
